Equipment I Use
Forget those go anywhere cameras I`ve used them and they are useless, you see them used on programmes where someone uses it as a video diary the quality is very poor compared to the rest of the programme. The only answer is a good quality 3 CCD Broadcast camera. Ask any broadcast cameraman and they'll tell you the same! The Sony DSR-450WSP would be used on high end productions such as the BBC Planet Earth programme, Sports Events and other quality programmes which would give a true 16x9 widescreen picture.
Its very important when choosing your video cameraman to find out what equipment he or she is using as the best most upto date equipment will undoubtedly produce the best video for your special day.
I have recently purchased a Sony DSR450 WSP 3 Chip True 16x9 Widescreen Broadcast camera which cost in all around £13,500.00. Also used on your day are professional microphones to capture the sound at its best, I also use a lightweight carbon fibre tripod so as to keep myself mobile. More equipment is also carried such as a small spare HDV video camera, cables, batteries, camera top light, radio mic etc. all those just in case things should I need them.
When it comes to editing my edit suite which is computer a Dell Precision 390 with a Quad Core Extreme processor with over 6,000 Gigabytes of hard drive space and combines a DVD writer with software upto date such as Adobe Premiere CS3 & Adobe After Effects CS3 combined with Boris FX 9 and Boris Continuum Complete with the Sony DV Cam DSR-25 Edit machine was well over £15,000.00.
